Pluggable Authentication Module 簡稱 PAM，是功能十分強大的系統認證模組系統。所有新式的 Linux 系統皆使用此認證系統。

系統可藉由 PAM，擴充認證機制。如透過 MIT Kerberos、LDAP、NetWare? 甚至將帳號認證資料建制於 mysql 等。
